Frequently Asked Questions

Can the massages be covered by benefits/ direct billed?

No, massages performed by a student therapist (not yet an RMT) cannot be covered under medical. Massages also cannot be done for ICBC claims. If you have any questions please contact Brianna.

Can I get Treatment Based Massage?

No, based on Brianna's current level of training she is not allowed to perform techniques on specific conditions until she has demonstrated and passed the competencies at the board exams after she has finished schooling.

Can I get my topical medication applied during my massage?

No, student therapists are unable to apply medication during a massage. However if you have a lotion or gel you prefer, you can bring it to Brianna's attention during the pre massage interview and she can decide to use that product during the massage.

As a student therapist, Brianna will follow CMTBC guidelines. Learn more about RMT's scope of practice here https://www.cmtbc.ca/registrants/resources-for-registrants/cmtbc-standards-of-practice/scope-of-practice/

Do I need to take off all my clothes for a massage?
